Seller Tips
Whether you're selling a sack of cabbages or running a full agro-supply business, these habits are what separate top sellers on Akatare from the rest.
1. Build a Listing Buyers Trust
- Use real photos of your actual produce or stock — taken in good light, showing true condition and quantity. Stock photos or misleading images lead to disputes and lower ratings.
- Be specific in your title and description: variety, grade, size, packaging (e.g. "Nambaale Beans, Grade A, 100kg sacks" beats "Beans for sale").
- Price honestly and consistently. List a real, current price. Buyers compare across sellers — inflated "negotiable" prices lose trust fast.
- State your real location. Buyers filter by country and area; accuracy here reduces wasted chats and failed deliveries.
2. Get Verified
Verified and Premium sellers get a visible trust badge, higher search ranking, and access to AI-powered listing boosts. For buyers choosing between two similar listings, verification is often the deciding factor — especially for bulk or first-time orders. See Pricing Plans.
3. Respond Fast, Confirm Everything in Chat
- Buyers move on quickly if you're slow to reply. Aim to respond within a few hours.
- Before an order is placed, confirm in the chat: exact quantity, price, quality/grade, and packaging. This isn't just good practice — it's your record if a dispute ever needs resolving. Note that the delivery arrangement itself is coordinated and determined by Akatare, not negotiated between you and the buyer.
- Never ask a buyer to pay you outside Akatare. Off-platform payments aren't covered by escrow protection and put both of you at risk. See our Safety & Trust guidance.
4. Only List What You Can Deliver
- List realistic quantities based on your actual current stock or harvest.
- If a crop is seasonal or limited, say so, and update or remove listings once sold out.
- Agree on a delivery timing you can actually meet. Remember: Akatare coordinates and controls the delivery arrangement for every order — you may be asked to hand off to Akatare's logistics network, or to deliver directly under Akatare's coordination — so keep your stock ready for whichever arrangement Akatare confirms. Late or partial delivery is the single biggest driver of buyer disputes.
5. Handle Bulk and Repeat Buyers Well
- Offer clear bulk pricing tiers in your chat, not vague "discount available" promises.
- Keep a simple record of returning buyers and their usual orders — repeat business is the fastest way to grow without extra marketing.
- Ask satisfied buyers to leave a rating. Consistent good ratings compound into more visibility over time.
6. Protect Your Account
- Never share your login, OTPs, or verification documents with anyone claiming to be "Akatare support" outside the official app or verified channels.
- Keep your contact and payout details up to date so payouts aren't delayed after a buyer confirms delivery.
7. Know What You Can't Sell
Akatare prohibits listings for illegal agro-inputs (e.g. banned pesticides, counterfeit seed), endangered or protected species, stolen goods, and any product misrepresented in category or content. Listings that violate this can be removed and may affect your seller standing. Full detail is in our Terms of Service.
